I'm Steph
About me

I grew up around Chicagoland and have spent the last nine years in New Orleans. I have a photojournalism degree from Ball State University and currently contribute to numerous publications in Louisiana.

My subjects are often (noise) makers, agitators, mothers, performers and occasionally a beloved pet or interesting piece of locally grown fruit. When I'm not behind the lens, I run a home business preserving sacred botanical material, The Crypt Flowers and contribute to and distribute Antigravity, an independent monthly new magazine in New Orleans.

For me, photography is representation. I witness hardship, kinship, motion and stillness like a fly on the wall and your biggest fan.

I photograph art openings, new menu items, birthdays, horse races, weddings, elopements, maternity shoots, pet departure, family vacations, divorce parties, boudoir sessions, environmental portraits, local events, live performances, honestly (mostly) any assignment you give me. I work quickly, provide countless high resolution images, and do my best to make this an easy process for my subjects. I've been documenting weddings on my own and as a second shooter since 2012.

Unique to me, my first jobs were working in the events + wedding industry. I have decades of knowledge from the perspective of the florist, catering management, venue operations, event coordination + planning, videography + photography. I am extremely comfortable in these spaces from backyard elopements to high end ballroom events.

One of my best skills is moving smoothly under pressure, a deadline or change of plans. Interested in working together? I'd love to chat about photographing something special together. Inquire below!
